How do you possibly get a brand new house with one red paper clip? Unfeasible, you might think, but it did happen to a chap in Canada
The trade began as a man’s quest to barter a red paper clip for something higher, one year later he’s about to get his new house.
Kyle MacDonald started with a red paperclip in July of 2005 and was able to get a snowmobile, generator, instant party and other stuff before finally ending up with the house.
MacDonald's trades have gone as follows:
• Red Paper clip for a fish-shaped pen
• Fish-shaped pen for a clay doorknob that looks like ET (Knob T as I fondly calls it)
• Clay doorknob for a Coleman camping stove/Barbeque
• Coleman camping stove/Barbeque for a portable generator
• Portable Generator for an "instant party" (Beer Keg, Budweiser Neon Light with an additional IOU of Keg)
• Instant party for a snowmobile
• Snowmobile for an all-expenses-paid vacation trip to Yahk, British Columbia
• Yahk Vacation trip for a panel van
• Van for a recording contract
• Recording contract for a year of free rent in a Phoenix
• One Year of free rent in phoenix for a whole afternoon with Alice Cooper
• One afternoon with Alice Cooper for a KISS Snow globe
• Snow globe for a movie role (Includes room and board during production, return airfare from anywhere in the world)
• Film Role for a house (Trade will be done on July 12)
